Résumé
Trois éducatrices en arts se réunissent pour réagir à l’œuvre de Sonny Assu, Ligwilda’xw du groupe de Nations Kwakwaka’wakw, invité à titre d’artiste-résident à un symposium du cycle supérieur sur l’expression visuelle autochtone en tant que pédagogie. Intégrant les concepts de métissage autochtone, de diffraction et d’a/r/tographie, nous entremêlons nos récits personnels, nos identités et nos pratiques. Nous discutons des modes de mise en œuvre de pratiques pédagogiques anticoloniales pour offrir aux étudiant.e.s la possibilité de retracer, de réimaginer et de réconcilier leurs perceptions des relations autochtones-colons au Canada. Notre appel à l’action encourage les éducateurs et éducatrices en arts à considérer le métissage autochtone comme une pratique de recherche diffractive importante et comme une praxie pédagogique.
